Whatever happened to capitalism?

I've always thought that capitalism was responsible for making the United States of America the great nation that it was. That's right, was. As far as I'm concerned, captitalism in this country is dead.

I've never been an incredibly smart or talented individual. I know my strengths. I know my weaknesses. I have planned my life and made my decisions accordingly. I wasn't looking to make a fortune. I wasn't looking to save the world. I chose to go into a civil service job because of the stability and benefits. I was never an "overachiever" and thus chose not to go into business for myself. I was never really a "follower" and thus chose not to go into the corporate world. From where I sit, I can say both the private and public sectors are in shambles! Since when does the government bailout private industry? With taxpayer's money? Are the taxpayers going to see any return on that? Never! We keep footin' the bill and gettin' the shaft in return. It's time we said enough. I have to balance my checkbook, why can't the government and the private sector? If I ran my household like that, my family and I would be on the streets! Stop the bailouts. Let these companies restructure and pull through or go out of business...that's capitalism. But we're socialists now, aren't we? Let the government divvy up the funds and redistribute the wealth...what a crock!

I just can't believe all those who think things will change after tomorrow! It's just more of the same people...just a different name and catch phrase.

I'm not one of those that blames everything on President Bush, either. I really like the guy. He has the fortitude to stay the course and stick to his guns. I don't agree with some of his decisions...especially when it comes to immigration, amnesty and jobs for Americans. Obama is all about change all right....he changes his mind every time he comes on the television. And he's gonna take a dollar from me and give me eleven cents change. All of you out there who took the bait need to realize he's just another politician.

God help us all....that's right, I said God. You got a problem with that?
