To continue with my "Best of 2008" series, here is another one of my personal favorites. This is Jacob and his great-grandfather, Al, going for a walk up the hill. Jacob loves going to see "Grandpa on the hill" because he loves playing outside and riding the tractors.
I took this shot one afternoon using my Canon 40D and Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM lens.
For processing, I uploaded this to Flickr and used the Picnik editor to add a cross-processed effect and the vignetting. I really need to find a program or action to add cross-processing effects to images, it's one of my favorites effects if used on the right shot. Funny, I never really cared for cross-processed pictures before I got into photography.
As far as software goes, I like Nik Software's Color Efex Pro 3.0. This program comes in three versions, and the full blown one has some fantastic filters to use in post-processing. The full blown version is a bit pricey and the cheaper versions do not offer the cross-processing filter.
Just one more fave from 2008 left.....then I'll have to start working on making some for 2009. I've been slacking off with the pictures lately.

Hey Tim! I'm a huge fan of photography, but not very knowledgeable about it. You will have to check out The Pioneer Woman's blog...I love it! She makes photography very interesting. She also gives away sets of free actions that you can download from her website. Check it out:
