In carrying on the theme of my favorite photos of 2008, here is my favorite "candid portrait" of the year. I convinced my wife that I needed a Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM in order to capture great shots of our extremely quick kids....and I think it paid off for this shot.
Halloween is a favorite time for kids, an it's no exception for my son. This year, he was a firefighter, as you can plainly see here. Needless to say, he had a great time and got lots of candy (sugar and my son have never been a good combination, but what are you gonna do?).
Anyhow, this is one of those rare shots where the sun, the moon and the stars aligned for a brief moment. I was able to capture a photo of my son smiling, not making any strange or funny faces and it's not blurry from him moving!
So, now I'm trying to convince my wife I need a new lens. I'm torn this time between four lenses though. I'll leave that for my next post...Hey, I gotta have something to talk about, right?
