Oh, my achin' back...

My dad and I spent the last three days laying hardwood floor in the dining room, front room, family room and hallway. Sor far, it looks fantastic, but we still have a days worth of work laying it. Needless to say, my back and legs are sore and I'm sure dad's are, too. We'll finish up tomorrow..I took the day off to get it done. The kitchen and dining room are packed with furniture so it's tough to get around the house and do anything, especially with the boys.

After we finish that, I have to paint and install the new baseboard and casing. Then we got a whole lotta nail holes to fill and touch up...I'm not looking forward to that! It should all be done in time for the boys' birthday party (Feb. 22) though. Then I can finally spend a few weekends getting the garage dialed in. After that, the master bath!

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Fire in the sky

I took this shot on a trip up to Liebre Mountain off of Hwy. 138. My brother-in-law and I took my son for a drive and we ended up there. It was a beautiful sunset that evening, as you can see. It's rare to see something this spectacular in Southern California as we rarely have clouds like this, especially as the sun is setting. I took this with my Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM in order to keep a tighter frame on the tree rising from the valley. Plus, that's the lens I had on the camera....
